Course Description

This course is designed to meet industry guidelines through the IADC WellSharp™ Well Control for Subsea Operations learning objectives. It presents a body of knowledge and a set of job skills that can be used to provide well control knowledge and skills for Workover and Well Intervention operations personnel.

The course focuses on the Service Company Equipment Operator and Oil and Gas Operator Representatives Equipment Operators who are primarily responsible for the Subsea operational processes of well intervention.

Some of the topics covered in this course are: Risk Awareness and Management, Well Control Principles and Calculations, Barriers, Influx Fundamentals, Gas Characteristics and Behaviour, Completion and Workover Fluids, Surface and Subsurface Wellbore Equipment, Subsea Equipment, Procedures, Well Kill in Preparations for Well Intervention, Special Situations, Complications and Regulations.

Prerequisite – Candidate must have a valid Well Servicing Oil and Gas Operator Representative or Service Company Equipment Operator course certificate in order to be enrolled in the Subsea Supplement course.
